Germany is a wealthy, industrial and still beautiful country. Many historical and architectural treasures were lost in World War II, but much remains and has been restored. German natural scenery, particularly the Black Forest, Mosel Valley, Harz Mountains and Bavarian Alps are all worth visiting.

Apart from visiting historic Berlin, its also worth seeing Potsdam, Leipzig and Dresden, all part of East Germany before unification. Beware living standards are different to West Germany.

The Elbe, the Danube and the Rhine dominated German commerce for hundreds of years. Cruises begin and end at large cities of historic interest and last anywhere from 6 hours to 7 days.
